WTF :: Diesel’s Weird Bear Billboard Ad

Diesel is up to no good with a brand new controversial billboard that was recently erected in NYC at the corner of Houston and Crosby. The humongous ad shows a twinky young model (Eddie Tucker) suggestively undoing his belt next to a bear. A bear as in the animal, not a hairy man… The ad comes with the tagline, ‘Happiness comes from inside. I'm working on it.’ How to interpret the imagery with the text? I have no fucking clue. We have to thank Copyranter, the best blog to find the weirdest and most absurd ads for uncovering this one.

Best of 2008 :: Sean Harju by Giampaolo Sgura in Arena

Even though he’s walked quite a few S/S 10 runways, Major model Sean Harju has been kinda MIA in editorials and ad campaigns lately. So to feed our Harju hunger, I bring you this dreamy 2008 editorial by Giampaolo Sgura. ‘Clean Living,’ a Versace special feature, was styled by Andrew Davis and featured in Arena.

‘Tattoo You’ by Bell Soto & John Tan

Ah, models and tattoos… some love them, some hate them. They can be an integral part of a model’s identity. They can add personality to some shoots and give the featured fashion pieces an edge. But they can also be an expensive pain in the ass when they need to be digitally removed from editorial or advertising images. Fashion editor/stylist John Tan and photographer Bell Soto explore the world of model tattoos in their eye-catching feature, ‘Tattoo You’.

Model James Mangum [VNY] (above) thinks tattoos are played out. He doesn’t have any tattoos and wouldn’t be getting any, because his body is ‘too pretty to be drawn on.’ On the other hand, Mikus Lasmanis [ReQuest] (below) uses tattoos to ‘document important things that has happened in my life.’ He has two tattoos (see first post image, left) and plans to tattoo the first thing that his child would write on his chest.

Colby Jamar [Major] wins the tattoo race by having four (see first post image, right). He feels tattoos are his form of artistic expression and plans on having a half sleeve.

Model Anthony Gelfand [ReQuest] doesn’t have any tattoos yet, but plans on having "The World Is Ours" in French. Check out the full interview with the four models at John Tan Casting.

Model Spotlight :: David Horney at ReQuest

I am smitten with David Horney, a pretty new face at ReQuest. And as you look at the above image by Greg Vaughan, how can you not be as well? The 16 years-old David hails from Ohio and stands 6’11 feet tall with piercing green eyes.

Armani Exchange F/W 09-10 Ads by Tom Munro

Armani Exchange unveiled their new Fall/Winter 2009-10 ad campaign by Tom Munro. Major hottie Kerry Degman is the only model that survived from the super hot S/S 09 cast. The bum-bearing Parker Gregory is replaced by a headless Carlos Freire, while Michaela Hlaváèková takes over the spot of Rianne Ten Haken. I would have preferred if the ads changed up the formula of two guys and one girl, but I can’t complain much with the below picture of Kerry Degman rocking these white A|X briefs.

It’s currently a mystery if the elimination of Carlos Freire’s face/head in the ads was part of the original scheme, or if it’s a ‘situation’. We have to thank Made in Brazil for being the first blog to identify Carlos. Even with his face obscured, Carlos’ rock hard abs steal the scene in the second image. If you wanna see how Carlos actually looks like, check him out at our VGL friends.

Super Hotness by Greg Vaughan in Gus Mag #42

Sizzling hot is an understatement in describing the upcoming August/September issue #42 of Gus Mag [site, blog]. The combined hotness of Major models Kerry Degman, Michele Graglia, Sean Biloski, and Matthew Coatsworth was too much, it had to be cooled down with water in the editorial ‘Fire Island’ by Greg Vaughan. The hunky models were styled by Cameron Carpenter.

Then we have cover model Regis by Jean-Pol (below, left). The hot Santiago Peralta [Major], was also shot by Greg Vaughan and minimally styled by Anna Levak. I will let the images below do the speaking…

HomoFashion :: The Rad Hourani Zipper Pants Are Awesome

Everyone is raving about the new Rad by Rad Hourani collection, and I can see why in these images that were taken by Betty for MDC. My favorite piece is the male pants with the three zippers at the knee. If you’ve been hesitant about embracing the shredded look, this is a good compromise. You can open or close the zipper as you like.

Above we have Michael Vontsolos rocking the pants while chatting with the fierce Abiah Hostvedt ( both with Red). And below is Rad Hourani  himself wearing all black in the middle of his models. See more at MDC.

Joshua McVeity’s Green Hearts in Pref Mag

Canadian photographer Joshua McVeity has shared with us these images from his editorial ‘Les Coeurs Verts’ in the summer issue of Pref Mag, a French gay publication. The feature revolves around a relationship between two young lovers with green hearts, played by models Stephen Kroger and Mitch Baker. Caleigh Kansas did the styling, and the hair is by Keri Gordon.

I’ve been waiting for this editorial a while, and it’s certainly worth the wait. Also, congratulation are in order to Joshua for graduating and finishing his degree.

The guys at Charmants recently did a wonderful review of this Summer issue of Pref Mag. Check it out here to see what else was featured in this issue.

The Ethereal Beauty of Red Models by Eduardo Javier

Red models Jamil Ramirez, JR Sanchez, Liam Sole, Dean Sibrizzi, and Junior Carrasquillo  are beautifully captured by Eduardo Javier in this sensual photo shoot.

Janelle from models.com did a wonderful interview with Jamil Ramirez, check it here. Two thumbs up from me to Red for always supporting diverse talent.

Flashback :: Sean O’Pry by Hedi Slimane

Currently the #1 male model according to Forbes, Sean O’Pry was captured by Hedi Slimane a couple years ago (sometimes in 2007 I think). The above image is beautiful in its simplicity, and the two below are just playful and fun.
